We believe that being able to read and write is a basic human right.
People who have difficulty reading and writing suffer from shame, poor self-esteem and negative life experiences. They also lack access to many opportunities that most of us take for granted. The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) exists to help these people by raising literacy levels in Australia’s most marginalised communities.
The ALNF raises funds to develop, implement and sustain six groundbreaking programs with tangible results, supporting and up-skilling thousands of adults and children across the nation. Our programs support the literacy learning needs of a diverse range of individuals, families and communities – specifically targeting Indigenous, refugee and disadvantaged Australians.
